Pemungut Hasil Tanah Kota Tinggi v UMBC Federal Court

Effect of forfeiture

Section 131 National Land Code

Pemungut Hasil Tanah Kota Tinggi v UMBC  Federal Court

When any forfeiture takes effect under the NLC, there shall be vested in the State Authority, without any payment of compensation, the land and any buildings then existing thereon.

The effect of forfeiture on title is to cause the land to become State land and able to be alienated.

This results in the termination of  any dependant interest created by the proprietor or any interest properly claimed against the land through the proprietor.
